The Cozy Fleece Sweater that I Never Knew I Needed

Fall is in full effect - which means great layers and even greater outfits. It has been a short few weeks into this lovely season, but I'm already very excited about what else there is to come - in terms of inspiration and outfit combinations.

With that in mind, I recently picked up a few great pieces from UNIQLO - a brand that I discovered in 2014 in New York City. They weren't in Canada back then, but I was really excited about the quality and the fit of the clothing, considering the prices (which are amazing by the way). I even went on to buy more stuff during my time living in Taiwan, and was alittle baffled that they weren't in Canada yet.

Well they've been here for a little over a year now and they recently launched their mobile app, which made it much easier to have everything delivered right to my doorstep. I'm lazy like that - and I generally know how most of their clothing fits. There were a few pieces I found that I had to pick up, simply because of how versatile and exciting they were. I'll be focusing on one particular piece today though!

The Fluffy Fleece Jacket

I called it a sweater in the title, but I guess it's more of a jacket. I mean, it can be either. I've tried layering it in a bit with a few looks, but it's not that cold out yet, so it gets really warm (at least for me). However, it does a great job of keeping you warm and comfortable as a top piece. I went for a classic look with a tie and a plain light blue oxford (also UNIQLO), and it's a simple ensemble that can carry you through a day of work, into the evening for a night out. It comes in a variety of different colours too, but I had no brown fleece sweaters, so this was a good, neutral choice that I can mix in with various colours.

I decided to pair the upper half with ankle cropped trousers (also from UNIQLO), and they worked fairly well, considering they were a darker tone of brown. And they were a very comfortable choice. A pair of denim also works really well in this situation, as it keeps the look casual, but still put together. Finally, I threw in suede boots (J.Crew) to complete the look - which also worked fairly well.

All in all, I wanted to share my thoughts on this piece simply because I was excited about it. It's something I never really thought I needed in my wardrobe, until I picked it up - and it's been a great garment to experiment with.
